Hailing from Syracuse is Angel Gonzalez, an artist who goes by Angvl and is fairly new to the Upstate music scene. He became invested in the art of creating during the pandemic and what was once a hobby became a passion.

I’m based out of the Westside of Syracuse, NY which is my hometown but I lived (about)10(years) of my life in Los Ángeles before coming back during the start of the pandemic. I started making music this year and have just fell in love with the process of creating”

His 3rd single release since Fall began and his fifth of the year so far, “Drunk and Confused” will also make an appearance on his upcoming mixtape. The song is one of deep emotion and Angvl explains the inspiration and meaning behind it.

Produced by BenzoBeats the instrumental uses an infamous Shiloh Dynasty sample to bring in a sad atmosphere together that I try to cultivate. I try my best to depict a battle with depression during one of the darker moments, questioning your own life”

Writing all his own lyrics as well as surrounding himself with talented like minded individuals helps fuel Angvl’s work. He describes his musical process and who directly helped him craft “Drunk and Confused”.

“I write and vocalize all my own lyrics on this and all my own songs and outsource my recording and engineering. This song was recorded and engineered by Coupe at LightsonFayette and shout out to Flee for putting it all together “
