Young hip hop prodigy AOHB linked up with the veteran Blicka Don to piece together his latest single “Upgrade” produced by Ithacas own prodigy Saint Kid. With both artists hailing from Elmira, this collaboration was very much sought after and is the first time the two have worked together.

The song is loaded with wicked wordplay and displays the outrageous penmanship of both artists. When discussing the track AOHB said this is the best hes felt in a while and the song is the result of the surge in positivity.

“I got my swagger back. I’m at a point where my physical and mental is the best its ever been, I’m upgraded”

AOHB is known for his fast paced, witty bars and a vicious rhyme scheme that is immediately recognizable in his music. On episode 36 of Upstate Aesthetics’ The Cypher, co-hosts Anthony Kannon and Sheridan raved over his wordplay in one of his tracks “Match Me Freestyle that was played on the show. The song starts at the 1:17:55 mark and their reactions can be viewed in the video below.

As a youthful powerhouse in Upstate NY and a fan of traditional rap it made perfect sense to have Blicka Don join him for “Upgrade”. Bringing with him his own style of raw and gritty punchlines and almost two decades of experience in his craft, the two created the perfect track to highlight the two artists strengths. Blicka is no stranger to working with younger artists as he also has collaborations with Tmako, O3 Kosta, Anthony Kannon, MBK Richy and more.

Especially for his age AOHB is quite the stand out. At a concert in late 2018, he was pulled on stage by Joyner Lucas and even got to rap with him in front of the entire crowd. An experience that he will never forget but also one that showed his fans a glimpse of what the future could hold for him. Its a surreal moment most people never get the chance to be apart of and he made sure to not waste it as Joyner was very impressed with his prowess in the art of speed rapping, something Lucas has become a master of.

An Upstate artist with an old soul and a passion for rap, AOHB is a dedicated student of the game. His first project Andy On His Bike is currently available on Soundcloud and even features vocals from his younger sister Austyn Johnson, who is fast becoming a Hollywood star and has roles in films such as The Greatest Showman(2017), The Post(2017), and The Girl Who Believes in Miracles(2021).
